Christopher Dean

Christopher Dean was born Aug 1973 and is a NJ native but resides in Havre De Grace MD as of 2020. He has been touring since 1997 fulltime as a traveling blues/soul musician.

He started playing guitar at age 15 and studied various styles of blues and soul guitar after high school in 1992. Early influences included Charlie Patton, BB King, and Magic Sam. Later, David Ruffin, Al Green, and Sarah Vaughn. He formed the Christopher Dean Band 1995 and started working the hardcore blues area in Newark, Elizabeth, and Plainfiled, NJ. Dean was recommended to Big Jack Johnson agent /manager Hooter Saslaff and joined Big Jack and The Oilers in January, 1997. For next 3 years, he toured worldwide and recorded 2 highly acclaimed blues albums with Big Jack: "All The Way Back,(98) Roots Stew (2000). He restarted the Christopher Dean Band in early 2000 and has recorded several albums since then including: "Three Times a Fool ( Johnny Rawls Deep South Sound, 2003). Where I Need To Be (2007; Lost World Music), What I Need (Lost World Music; 2010) and an April 2014 release, "Call Me Later." The albums all received great reviews from blues and soul publications alike. 

The band has toured non-stop since 2000, 180 days/year and have played many special concerts, clubs, and events during that time including American Music Fest (Harrisburg, PA), Central PA Arts Fest, The Kennedy Center, DC, Miami Dade Cultural Center, and BB King's NYC along with hundreds of other festivals and concert venues along the East Coast. Christopher Dean will be performing acoustically, showcasing the fundamentals of soul blues and juke joint rhythms in the process.
